How Much Does a Website Cost for a Small Business in Kent?
If you run a small business in Folkestone, Hythe, Dover, Ashford or anywhere else in Kent and you’re trying to work out what a website should cost, the honest answer is: it depends what you actually need. Here’s a realistic breakdown, no jargon.

A simple one-page site
If you just need to exist online, one clean page with your contact details, a bit about the business, and a way for people to get in touch, that’s the cheapest option. Expect this to sit in the low hundreds as a one-off, especially if a developer is running a limited-time offer (worth asking about).
What you should still get at this price: mobile-friendly design, a working contact form, your location on Google Maps, and basic SEO so the page can actually be found. If any of those are missing, the price is too low for what you’re getting.
Ongoing packages
Most local businesses end up wanting more than one page: a few service pages, a gallery, maybe a booking form. This is usually sold as a small setup fee plus a monthly amount that covers hosting, security updates, and a bit of ongoing support.
A mid-range package typically includes 3–5 pages, a booking or enquiry form, a photo gallery, a Google Business Profile connection, on-page SEO, and basic analytics so you can see who’s visiting.
What actually changes the price
Three things move the number more than anything else:
- How many pages, and how custom they are. A template-style site with your branding dropped in is cheaper than a fully bespoke design.
- Whether you need a blog or CMS. Being able to edit content yourself, or publish your own blog posts, adds development time.
- E-commerce or online payments. Taking bookings or payments online is a different (and more involved) build than a brochure site.
What to watch out for
Be wary of quotes with no fixed scope, “from £X” pricing with no detail on what’s included, or contracts that lock you into a long minimum term for hosting you could get elsewhere. A good developer should be able to tell you exactly what you’re getting for the price, upfront.
If you want to see real numbers, I publish fixed pricing for local business websites, including a limited summer offer, rather than making you ask for a quote.
